1 Who we are
Stack Up Fantasy ("Stack Up," "we," "us") is operated by Stack Up Fantasy LLC. For any privacy question or request, contact us at contact@stackupfantasy.com. For people in the EU/UK, this is our contact point for data-protection matters.
2 What we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. Here's everything, and why we have it:
| What | Why we have it |
|---|---|
| Email & phone number | To create your account and sign you in — collected and managed through our authentication provider, Clerk. |
| Date of birth | To confirm you're 18 or older (a requirement to play). |
| Country, state, or region | To confirm your age requirement and whether we can lawfully pay prizes where you are. |
| Gameplay data | Your picks, scores, leagues, and activity — this is the game itself. |
| Technical & usage data | Basic device and log information generated as you use the app, used to run and secure it. |
We don't collect payment information
Stack Up has no entry fees and never charges you. We don't process payments from players, so we never collect or store card numbers, bank details, or any other payment information.
3 How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and sign you in;
- To run the game — set up leagues and contests, calculate scores, and show leaderboards;
- To confirm eligibility (your age and location) to play and to win prizes;
- To contact you about your account and gameplay, and — only if you opt in — about news and promotions;
- To detect and prevent fraud, cheating, abuse, and security problems;
- To meet legal obligations, including tax reporting for prize winners where required.
4 How we share information
We don't sell your personal information
We never sell your personal data, and we don't share your contact details with advertisers or let advertisers target you individually through us.
We share personal information only in these limited ways:
- Service providers who help us run Stack Up and may only use data on our instructions — including Clerk (sign-in & contact info), Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), OneSignal (notifications & email), and our sports-data provider.
- Aggregated or de-identified data — information that doesn't identify you, such as total player counts, general engagement metrics, or broad demographic trends, which we may share with partners or advertisers. This can't reasonably be used to identify you, and sharing it is not a sale of personal information.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our players or us.
- Business transfers — if we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that deal.
5 Where your information is processed
Stack Up is available worldwide. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where we and our providers operate. These countries may have data-protection laws different from your own. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by law. By using Stack Up, you understand your information may be processed in these locations.
6 Your rights & choices
Wherever you live, you can:
- Update your contact and profile details in the app;
- Opt out of promotional messages using the unsubscribe link or your notification settings;
- Ask us to access, correct, delete, or send you a copy of your personal information;
- Delete your account and associated personal data — through the in-app option or by contacting us — except information we must keep for legal reasons, such as tax records for prize winners.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws like the GDPR (EU), UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA (California) — including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and the right not to be treated differently for exercising your rights. Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases for processing are: performing our contract with you (running the game), your consent (for example, marketing), and our legitimate interests (security and improving Stack Up). To exercise any right, email contact@stackupfantasy.com and we'll respond as the law requires.
7 How long we keep it
We keep personal information while your account is active or as needed to run the service, and afterward only as long as required for legal, tax, fraud-prevention, or dispute purposes. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.
8 Children
Stack Up is only for adults — you must be at least 18 (and older in some states; see our Terms of Service for state-specific minimum ages). We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn we have, we'll delete it. If you believe someone under 18 has given us information, contact us at contact@stackupfantasy.com.
9 Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including relying on established providers such as Clerk for authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security — but we work to keep your data safe.
10 Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. For material changes we'll update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, give notice in the app. If you keep using Stack Up after changes take effect, you accept the updated policy.
